TheBetaBand_2005Album: The Best Of Beta Band

From the very beginning, when they brought out their debut EP called "Champion Versions" in 1997, Beta Band were well known in Great Britain. Three friends from Edinburgh started the group: vocalist Stephen Mason, drummer Robin Jones and DJ/sampler John Maclean. Bass player Richard Greentree joined the group later. They never tried to imitate any other music. Beta Band's songs are a mix of different types of songs and styles – everything from ballads and 60s garage to British pop, grunge and post punk. The band loved performing live on stage, and they never stopped experimenting with their innovative and fantastic music.

In early 1998 they released their next two EPs  "The Patty Patty Sound" and "Los Amigos Del Beta Bandidos". Beta Band used the songs from their first three EPs to make an album, called "The Threes E.P.s". But they waited until summer 2001 to release their first real album, called "Hot Shots II". By then they already had a lot of fans in Europe. And when they went on tour with the popular American band Radiohead, they became stars in the US too. In spring 2004 they released their last album, "Heroes to Zeros". Fans all over the world – including famous musicians like Beck – were sad when the Beta Band split up at the end of 2004.

They might not be making music together any more, but the Beta Band are still popular. Now other bands copy their music! But you should know the original. "The Best of Beta Band" is a double CD and double DVD set with their wonderful innovative music, fantastic videos, films and more! On the first music CD you will find hits like "It’s Not Too Beautiful", "Squares", "Human Being" and "Easy". The second CD is a fantastic live CD, recorded at Shepherds Bush Empire in London. Your fantasy will be inspired by the incredible music and films of Beta Band!
