My Morning Jacket

The original members of the band come from Louisville, in the US state of Kentucky, and they build their music around the vocals and songwriting talent of front man Jim James. He founded the band with his cousin Johnny Quaid (guitar), Two-Tone Tommy (bass) and Patrick Hallahan (drums). After two of the members left the band because they were on tour too much, Bo Koster and Carl Broemel joined them.

The new members have been great for the band, and now the band's music is more exciting than ever. They make real American independent pop music. They've been getting more popular not only in the US, but also here in Europe. They were featured in a Dutch documentary film after getting a lot of praise from the Dutch music press. They went on tour with the Foo Fighters, The Doves and Burning Bridges, which also helped get them even more fans.

My Morning Jacket live in a world of wide-open space under a velvet sky – just listen to the songs “Into The Woods” or “Lay Low”.
